W piątek, 18 grudnia 2020 odbyła się prezentacja książki prof. Jane Curry zatytułowanej Democracy and Democratization The Third and Fourth Waves.

Prezentacja odbyła się w formie zdalnej, a pośrednictwem łącza internetowego. Książka ukazała się w ramach cyklu „30 tomów na 30-lecie”, wydanego z okazji jubileuszu 30-lecia Studium Europy Wschodniej. W prezentacji udział wzięli autorka, prof. Jane Curry oraz prof. Paweł Kowal, prof. Mariusz Kowalski oraz dyr Jan Malicki.

O autorce:

Jane Leftwich Curry has been a scholar of communist and then post communist affairs for over 40 years.  She has held 5 Fulbrights including the Inaugural Fulbright Chair in East European Studies for which she taught at the Studium Europiej Wschodnia.  She has written or been editor of 5 books as well as being the co-editor of the standard American textbook on Central and Eastern European politics, now in its 4th edition.  Her research has focused on the role of journalists and the media in Polish politics,  censorship and dissent in the communist era as well as the left in Central and East Europe in the post communist era and the process of the transition.  She has now completed a manuscript on the Colored Revolutions based on extensive interview research in Serbia, Ukraine, and Georgia.
