FAQ – Stypendia Wschodnie

• Preferowane są kandydatury osób mogących już wykazać się osiągnięciami naukowymi lub aktywnością organizacyjną, których dotychczasowe działania i osiągnięcia dają szanse wykorzystania zdobytej specjalizacji w ich własnych krajach w różnych dziedzinach życia naukowego lub publicznego.
• O stypendium mogą ubiegać się osoby z tytułem licencjata, magistra, inżyniera lub równorzędne.

• Kandydaci_tki mogą pochodzić ze wszystkich krajów Europy Wschodniej, Bałkanów nie należących do Unii Europejskiej, Kaukazu i Azji Środkowej.

Program studiów obejmuje zagadnienia historii i współczesności Europy Środkowo-Wschodniej, Rosji i całego obszaru postkomunistycznego, skupia się na historii, sprawach narodowościowych i politologicznych, ale zawiera także elementy historii sztuki, literatury, kultury, socjologii, geografii, demografii, prawa, ekonomii i in.

Program obejmuje także naukę 1 języka regionalnego.

Studia prowadzone są w pięciu specjalnościach:
a) Europa Wschodnia
b) Europa Środkowa
c) Bałkany
d) Rosja
e) Kaukaz – Azja Środkowa

W ramach „Studiów Wschodnich” prowadzą zajęcia wykładowcy polscy (kadra Studium Europy Wschodniej) oraz grono wykładowców gościnnych.

Zakres Stypendium:
a. Zwolnienie z opłat dla cudzoziemców za studia na UW (3 tys. € rocznie),
b. Stypendium dla stypendystów zagranicznych posiadających dyplomy ukończenia
pełnych studiów wyższych (1500 zł/mies. netto),
c. Kurs języka polskiego (2 semestry),
d. Kurs języka regionalnego (4 semestry),
e. Opłata części kosztów objazdu naukowego (na I roku studiów).

Warunkiem korzystania ze stypendium jest spełnienie wymagań przewidzianych Regulaminem i programem studiów oraz przygotowanie pisemnej końcowej pracy magisterskiej w języku polskim.

W razie niespełnienia warunków stypendium, bądź braku postępów w studiach, wypłata stypendium może zostać przerwana.

• Studia trwają 2 lata (4 semestry), stypendium jest wypłacane w ciągu roku akademickiego przez 9 miesięcy.
• Po spełnieniu warunków określonych szczegółowo w umowie ze stypendystą, możliwe jest przedłużenie stypendium maksymalnie o 1 miesiąc na I i II roku studiów.

• Stypendium dla stypendystów zagranicznych posiadających dyplomy ukończenia pełnych studiów wyższych wynosi 1500 zł/mies. netto.

• Konkurs rozstrzyga Komisja Kwalifikacyjna Studium Europy Wschodniej UW.

• ТНЕ PROGRAM PREFERS candidates who саn already show scientific achievements or organizational activity, whose previous activities and achievements give the chance to use the acquired specialization in their own countries in various аrеаs of scientific or public life.
• For a scholarship can apply persons with a bachelor’s, master’s, engineer or equivalent diploma.
• AGE up to 35 years.

• CANDIDAТES may come from all countries of Eastern Europe, the Balkans not belonging to the European Union, the Caucasus and Central Asia.

• STUDIES last for 2 years (4 semesters), the scholarship is paid during the academic year for 9 months. After meeting the conditions specified in detail in the agreement with the scholarship holder, it is possible to extend the scholarship bу а maximum of one month оn the first and second year of studies.
• The study program covers the history and modern affairs of Central and Eastern Europe, Russia and the entire post communist area, focuses on history, national and political issues, but also includes elements of art history, literature, culture, sociology, geography, demography, law, economics, etc. The program also includes learning 1 regional language.
• The study programme is divided into 5 specializations:
  а) Russia
  b) Eastern Europe
  с) Central Europe
  d) The Balkans
  e) The Caucasus and Central Asia
• Lectures are conducted bу Polish academics affiliated bу the Centre and also bу guest lecturers
• SCOPE OF ТНЕ SCHOLARSHIP:
  а. Exemption from fees for foreigners for studies at the University of Warsaw (€ 3000 per year),
  b. Scholarship for foreign scholarship holders holding the diplomas of full higher
  education (PLN 1500 / month net),
  с. Polish language course (2 semesters),
  d. Regional language course (4 semesters),
  е. Payment of а part of the study tour costs (in the first year of studies).
  6. The condition for using the scholarship is to meet the requirements set out in the
• Regulations and the study program and to prepare а written final master’s thesis in Polish.
• IN CASE of а failure to meet the conditions of the scholarship, or lack of progress in studies, the payment of the scholarship may bе discontinued.

• SHORT (up to 2 pages) – motivation letter in Polish justifying applying for а scholarship, including plans related to the completion of “Eastern Studies”, indicating the specialization of Studies, which the candidate would like to study (according to the list of specializations, see 11-3)
• CURRICULUM VIТAE (in English) written in order from the latest events, along with а photography.

• Scholarship for foreign scholarship holders holding the diplomas of full higher education (PLN 1500 / month net)

• Final decisions on the basis of the qualification results will be taken by the appointed Commission of the Centre for Eastern European Studies.
